Cousin Roan

Katie, Jenny, and the kids came to visit. It was a blast for Mary. Everyone was especially fond of little baby Roan. Mary was very sweet; talking to her in a soft voice and handling her very, very, gently.

Centerville Parade

Cake Decorating.

Mary took a cake decorating class held by the city for kids her age. The best part was that she took it with cousin Nora. That, and all the delicious cakes they got to eat.

"Trust me, I'm a Doctor!"

Mary tells the class what she did to meet her requirements.
In Mrs.Parrish's class, each of the students makes a goal to earn a certain degree. As they achieved one, they could move on and try for another. The requirements to earn the "degree" got progressively harder and harder, so it was quite the feat for Mary to earn her doctors. It was a lot of work, and we were all so proud of her.

Invention Fair

Mary greets Christian as he visits her display in the multipurpose room.
Mary preps herself to explain her invention. Down by her feet you can see her cleverly designed diorama to illustrate how her blanket would look in the average bedroom.
Mary's class was a part of an "invention fair" at her school. Mary's invention was the "Senket" or sensor blanket. The idea was a blanket with a sensor so that it would make your bed for you in the morning and tuck you into it at night. Can you imagine anything better? Though her effort was last minute, she worked very hard and carefully on her project. When all was said and done, I'm sure she wished she had had a Senket to be tucked into that night.

Hot Rocks

When the cat's away, the mice will play. When Mommy and Daddy head out for dinner, Sarah cracks open her Pinterest page for fun things to do. This is Mary's absolute favorite; hot rocks. As you can see, she has a knack for this craft. Heat rocks in a 375 degree oven for at least fifteen minutes. Then color them with wax crayons. We recommend the "drip" method, which Mary demonstrates above.

Return of the Davidsons

The Davidson clan (much beloved at our house) finally returned from living in Maryland for three years. They were very missed and everyone was pretty excited when they announced they would be moving back. Mary was ecstatic to have cousin Nora back, whom she is very close to.
